Synthesis of benzimidazoles via iridium-catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling.
Iridium-catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling of tertiary amines and arylamines has been developed. A number of benzimidazoles were prepared in good yields. An iridium-mediated C-H activation mechanism is suggested. This finding represents a novel strategy for the synthesis of benzimidazoles.

La(OAc)3 has been used as an efficient catalytic system for the synthesis of quinoxalines. This method provides several advantages over methods that are currently employed such as a simple work-up, mild reaction conditions, good to excellent yields, and a process to recover and reuse the catalyst for five cycles with consistent activity.
متن کاملRuthenium PNN(O) Complexes: Cooperative Reactivity and Application as Catalysts for Acceptorless Dehydrogenative Coupling Reactions
The novel tridentate PNNOH pincer ligand LH features a reactive 2-hydroxypyridine functionality as well as a bipyridyl-methylphosphine skeleton for meridional coordination. This proton-responsive ligand coordinates in a straightforward manner to RuCl(CO)(H)(PPh3)3 to generate complex 1. The methoxy-protected analogue LMe was also coordinated to Ru(II) for comparison. Both species have been crys...
متن کاملEfficient synthesis of anthranilic esters via Pd-catalyzed dehydrogenative/decarbonylative coupling of anilides and glyoxylates.
A novel way of synthesizing anthranilic esters was developed via Pd-catalyzed dehydrogenative/decarbonylative coupling between anilides and glyoxylates.
متن کاملUnified synthesis of mono/bis-arylated phenols via RhIII-catalyzed dehydrogenative coupling.
2,6-Bis-arylated phenols are rarely reported and are synthetically challenging. Directed C-H functionalization reactions, using a directing group (DG), might provide a convenient solution to their synthesis. However, this strategy usually results in partial cleavage of the directing group, preventing further/second C-H activation cascades. Herein we report a general strategy that allows for the...
